Product Introduction
Infrared spectrometers for analyzing liquid samples are very common, whether in laboratory analysis or field applications.
Infrared analysis of liquids involves both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Qualitative analysis is typically conducted using transmission methods, such as the film-coating method and the sandwich liquid film method. Quantitative analysis is usually carried out by the liquid cell transmission method. In recent years, some users have adopted the ATR reflection method for liquid measurement. The advantage of the transmission method is its high light flux, making it suitable for analyzing liquids at the ppm level of low concentration. However, sample preparation is rather cumbersome, especially when loading and unloading the liquid cell, injecting samples, and cleaning it. The ATR method is relatively simple for sample preparation, requiring only a single drop of liquid for measurement. However, due to the weak signal of ATR attenuated total reflection, it is only suitable for measuring liquids with higher concentrations, such as those with a percentage content. Moreover, the high cost of ATR also limits its application in certain fields.
The latest FOLI10-RT Rotating Transmissive Infrared Liquid Analyzer from Ying Sa Optics perfectly combines the high light flux of the transmissive method with the ease of sample preparation of the ATR method. Moreover, the rotating head of this analyzer can be equipped with up to 4 optical windows of different optical paths and 1 cleaning position, fully meeting the diverse testing requirements of different customers.
This rotating transmission module is integrated with the infrared host as a single unit, featuring a high light flux ZnSe crystal design for outstanding sensitivity. The rotating head with positioning pins can rotate either clockwise or counterclockwise, ensuring high-precision and repeatable sampling. Users can operate it flexibly according to their actual needs.Configure 1 to 4 optical windows with different fixed optical paths. Different optical paths can be upgraded at any time in the future.
The optical path length of the rotating transmission module is equivalent to the thickness of the liquid cell. The FOLI10-RT is available in standard specifications of 30 μ m, 50 μ m, 100 μ m, 200 μ m, and custom optical path lengths. Generally, when performing liquid quantification, the 100 μ m optical path is the most commonly used. If converted to the number of reflections in ATR, this optical path is equivalent to 50 reflections of the ATR crystal at 1000 cm⁻ ¹ . Therefore, the transmission sensitivity is very high.
When conducting liquid quantitative tests, just one drop of liquid is sufficient to meet the measurement requirements. If the user finds that the absorption peak in the spectrum is very weak, it indicates that the optical path of the selected rotating head is too short. Simply rotate to a larger optical path for measurement. If a 'flat-topped peak' appears in the spectrum, it means that the optical path of the selected rotating head is too long, and a smaller optical path should be chosen for measurement. After the measurement is completed, use an appropriate solvent (water or organic solvent) and a lint-free tissue to clean the sample on the crystal surface, and then you can proceed to the next sample. It's very simple.
This attachment has a wide range of applications and can meet the liquid testing needs of different application fields. It can not only accurately measure the quantity but also qualitatively analyze organic solutions, organic solvents, various types of oils and impurities, as well as water solution systems.
Summary:
FOLI10-RT is a dedicated liquid analyzer that can be equipped with rotating heads of different optical paths to precisely quantify liquid samples of various concentrations. Compared with traditional liquid measurement methods, the greatest advantage of FOLI10-RT is:
